Description

Two women in the yard of a home in Los Angeles, Charles M. Erard, ca. 1905. The view is taken from a street and behind a plain board fence is the yard with a variety of small, relatively newly planted trees, a gazebo with shingled roof, and the two ladies in Edwardian-style clothing and hairdos standing near it. In the background is one side of the one-and-a-half story house with awnings and horizontal wood siding. On the reverse is the photographer's stamp with name and address. Erard, a native of Clay, New York, lived in Rockford, Illinois, and Kalamazoo, South Haven, and Battle Creek, Michigan. His stay in Los Angeles appears to have been brief. With light edge rubbing and soiling, the condition is good.
