Description

Color: Black; White A photograph of an unidentified church in Los Angeles, ca. 1900. The photographer stood on the opposite side and corner of the intersection to capture the two facing elevations of the structure. The building is a Romanesque structure with sandstone-like blocks and many arched windows, some with stained glass. A cross surmounts the center of the elevation facing the photographer. In the street below is a large gathering of what appear mostly to be children dressed in their Sunday best. There are some adults standing at the right near a three-story French Second Empire-style house. Some power poles with wires running to and from them are also in the view. On the back, right of center, is the number "35" while the number "8" is at the upper right corner. With some light soiling and creasing on the reverse, as well as the aforementioned material on the front, the item is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
