Description

Color: Black; White A photograph of an unidentified Los Angeles street, ca. 1900. The photographer stood in the middle of the street, which has horse-drawn conveyances and an electric streetcar on it, as well as some pedestrians. On either side are buildings ranging from one to four stories, including the Hotel Mensing at the left and the Sprague Building, with the date 1888 on it, at the right. Power poles, store signs, flagpoles, advertising signs, and other material are of note. On the reverse are two pencil inscriptions: the number "137" at the right of center and what seems to be a letter "F" at the upper right. Aside from a small crease in the upper right corner and light soiling on the back, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
