Description

UNIDENTIFIED MAN AND WOMAN ON STEPS OF A HOUSE Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of an unknown man and woman on the steps of a house, ca. 1933. The two are arm-in-arm and leaning against the wall that flanks the stairs. The man, at left, wears a light-colored three-piece suit and tie with white shirt. He has one hand in a jacket pocket and his left arm around the woman, who wears a floral-print dress and dark-colored shoes. The steps are wide, covering much of the lower and left sides of the image. The wall is rock with a cement cap. Behind the couple are either trees or tall bushes. Very faintly is some of the porch and a wall of the house at the upper left. A related image is 96.7.69.4 with Thomas W. Temple II and the woman posed on the other side of the steps. The house may be the same as in 96.7.65.4 and 96.7.69.3, but too few comparable details can be made. On the reverse center is a stamp for the photo developer in the shape of an oval. Within it is "ANDERSON / Photo Service / EL MONTE." At the upper right is the number "9." Aside from a noticeable crease at the upper right corner, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
