Description

Color: Black; White A photograph of an unidentified street in Los Angeles, ca. 1900. The photographer stood on one side of the street and is focused apparently on one building, a sandstone Romanesque-style structure at an intersection on the opposite side of the street. This building is four or five stories tall and has a corner tower with a conical roof and steeply pitched gabels elsewhere. It may be a residential building, but it is impossible to discern its use. At the far right is a three-story structure and here are other three-story buildings at the far left, but the view appears to be in largely a residential neighborhood. A horse-drawn conveyance is at the center and there are a few pedestrians on sidewalks. The street in the foregorund has streetcar tracks on it. On the back center is the number "156" while the number "0" or letter "O" is at the upper right corner. With some light soiling and creasing on the reverse, as well as the aforementioned material on the front, the item is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
