Description

Color: Black; White A photograph of an unidentified woman sitting on a wooden bench at an unidentified train station, August or September 1928. The subject wears a knee-length coat and dress, white hose, dark buckled shoes and a cloche hat and has her hands on her lap (she may be holding a purse, as well.) She is seated at the end of a becnh with two walls behind her, with windows partially seen in each one. Aside from a rather bare wooden floor, there are no other distinguishing characteristics to the image. On the reverse is part of a developer's stamp reading, within an oval area, "ENAMELO / SEP 7 1928 / WEBBS," which latter name was the name of the drug store in San Jose, where many Temple family photos were developed. Given, however, that only Agnes Temple was living in northern California in 1928, it is presumed the subject is a friend of hers and Agnes may have been the photographer. With a fairly large water stain and part of a mounting corner adhered to the top, because of exposure, the image is in fair condition. Number-Units: 1
