Description
UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN NEAR A CAR, PROBABLY IN SAN FRANCISCO
Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of an unidentified woman standing next to a car at what is likely Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, ca. 1928. The woman, wearsing a knee-length light-colored coat and a a dark cloche hat has her hands clasped in front of her. Behind her is a large dark-colored car, a hardtop coupe with whitewall tires. In the background is the lower portion of three bronze statues mounted on a very large white pedestal. Part of the inscription is readable with magnification and the work is probably the war memorial in Golden Gate Park. The tops of two trees are in the background behind the statuary. The foreground is a paved or hardpacked dirt road. The young woman is seen in other photographs from this collection. With some significant water damage at the upper right portion of the front and reverse, including indications of where mounting corners had been, the artifact is in fair condition.
