Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of an unknown couple beside a house, ca. 1920s. The pair stand at the center on a paved area with the man on the left. He looks at the camera and wears a pull-over sweater, collared shirt, and trousers. His right hand is in the pants' pocket and his left arm is around the woman at the right. The woman looks away from the camera and wears a velvet jacket, dark knee-length dress, belt, and hose. She holds a handbag at the side in her left hand and has the right arm around the man's waist. Behind them and to the left is what appears to be a mound of dirt. This is against the wall of the house of which only a corner and the bottom right of a window are visible. At the right is a wood structure with a flat roof. This has one door which has a screened window at the center. Stamped on the bottom right corner of the back is the number, "2." The photograph was housed in Agnes Temple's album which is item 96.7.94.1 along with many other photographs which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With only small stains along the top, the artifact is in good condition overall.
