Description

Color: Black; White A real photo postcard of the front facade of the Valley Dairy Co., Inc. building in El Monte, California, ca. 1920s. The image shows the building from the middle of a street and the facade has an arched front door with a classical set of columns and an entablature. The two-story structure has sets of six windows on each level, three each flanking the entrance. There is some ornamentation at the upper corners of the facade in the form of brackets. In front of the building is a sidewalk to the street, grass lawns, and some shrubbery adjacent to the building and near the street in the grass flanking the sidewalk. At the bottom is white captioning with the company name, location, and the name and location of the photographer. On the back is stamped material indication locations for correspondence and address, the stamp and the words "POST CARD." Aside from some soiling and dented corners, there is little indication of wear and damage and the overall condition is good.
