Description

Color: Blue; Gray A color polaroid photograph of a corner of the mausoleum and deteriorated veneering, ca. 1977. It cannot be determined whether this is the north or south end of the structure, but a corner of the section where the crypts are located is shows with the corner toward the left. Just below the pediment toward the top section of concrete veneer is shown badly deteriorated and flaking. Curiously, the corresponding area around the corner does not have nearly the amount of decay and the damage seems limited to this one section. On the reverse is an ink inscription reading "Temple Mausoleum / cornice detail exterior / prior to restoration / photo by archt 9-7-79." Underneath this is the stamp of the restoration architect Raymond Girvigian with his name, address, and telephone number. A piece of tape covers the stamp. Because this is a close-up view, there are no other features of note in the artifact, which is in good condition with some surface soiling. Number-Units: 1
