Description
"View from Sierra Madre Villa. San Gabriel, Cal. 4832," by Carleton Watkins from Watkins New Series, ca. 1880. Looking westward from the resort located in what is now northeast Pasadena, the view shows a frame house and outbuildings a short distance from the photographer, some plantings in the foreground near the villa and an unbroken stretch of farmland extending toward the San Rafael Hills and Verdugo Mountains in the distance. With some scratches and dents on the image and some edge wear on the mount, the condition is good.
