VIGARE FAMILY AT THEIR ADOBE, SAN GABRIEL, CA. 1900s
Color: Black and white
A black and white reproduction photograph of members of the Vigare family in front of family adobe at San Gabriel, ca. 1900. Two women and five children are in the image, four of which are identified on inscriptions on the back of the frame (91.2) in which the image was housed. At the far left, seated in a rocking chair, is Maria de la Luz Gonzalez Vigare, sister of Laura Gonzalez Temple. Seated next to her on the porch is Conchita Vigare, her daughter, who is seen in several 1920s-era photographs with the Temple family. Standing at the right with a guitar in her hand is Laura Vigare, who was probably a sister-in-law of Luz Vigare. Seated on the porch at the far right is Felix Vigare, possibly a daughter of Luz and brother of Conchita or son of Laura Vigare. The other three children are no identified, but are probably children of either Luz or Laura Vigare. Behind the group is the building with a door and window visible. An unidentifiable vine is growing on the porch posts and a section of the wood shingled roof is also visible. In the foreground are portions of paths and planted areas. With little indication of wear or damage, the photograph is in good condition.
