Description

WALKWAY AT EAST ENTRANCE TO THE MISSION WALKWAY BEFORE REPAIRS Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of the walkway at the east entrance to the Mission Walkway before repair work commenced, 15 October 1979. The photographer stands looking to the east toward the center driveway. The walkway has some loose pavers and is very uneven looking, as if there had been settlement in some areas and raising in others. Above center is a circular planter about 2 feet in diameter. Next to this a paver became dislodged and is lying in the planter. To the right and left are parts of the planting areas on either side of the walk. In the background is a section of the center driveway, on which there is wood debris and, perhaps, concrete dust. At the bottom of the object in blue ink is the inscription "East Entry To be Raised / & Repaired. 10/15/79." Although the ink is smeared here, the appears to be little indication of wear or damage otherwise and the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
