Description

WALKWAY AT EAST ENTRANCE TO THE MISSION WALKWAY DURING REPAIRS Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of the walkway at the east entrance to the Mission Walkway undergoing repair work, ca. October 1979. The photographer stands on the center driveway looking to the west toward La Casa Nueva. At the right and upper center, two tilesetters work on the project, in which many of the pavers have been removed; the ground regraded; new mortar laid and dried; and the pavers reinstalled. At left is an area where the pavers have not yet been relaid. At the center is a cricular planter about 2 feet in diameter and it seems to have some wood debris in it. At right, behind one of the workmen, is part of the red fire alarm pull box. In the background, at the upper right corner, is part of the Mission Walkway wall and a grapevine. Through the east gate at upper left is part of La Casa Nueva and the door to the Living Room. With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
