Description

WALNUT DRYING, KATELLA RANCH, ORANGE COUNTY, ca. 1907. The postcard is in color and shows two men, possibly workers in the process of walnut drying in Katella ranch. There are walnuts in wooden containers. In the background to the left of the men pictured, appears to be a walnut dryer that seems to be operated manually. On the reverse side to the left is space for senders name and address. To the right of that is additional space for a message as well as a postmark space. The postcard was published by M. Rieder in Los Angeles and Dresden and was printed in Germany, with a number of 6889. Despite some minor discoloration and abrasion damage, light surface soiling as well as stains and pencil markings, the postcard is in good condition.
