Description

WALTER P. TEMPLE, SR. AT AN ARCADED CORRIDOR AT LA GRUILLA HOTEL Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of Walter P. Temple at an arcaded corrridor at La Gruilla Hotel in Ensenada, Mexico, ca. 1920s. Temple stands at the center below an arch. He wears eye-glasses, a tie, a long dark trenchcoat, and dark slacks. Both arms are behind his back. Across the foreground is an ornate iron rail. The rail is sustained by bricks which are at the bottom left and right, which leads to believe the hotel was under construction. A blue stamp for Anderson Photo Service which was in El Monte is on the back. The image was housed in Agnes Temple's photo album which is item 96.7.94.1 along with many other photographs which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With only a slight yellowing of the paper, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
