"Watching the Ford scout," circa March 1916. The image shows a group of four horseback riders and one man standing on the sandy bank of the San Gabriel River. The scout is assumed to be the rider on the right leading the others to ford the river. Riverside vegetation and some portions of the mountains are also in view. At the bottom is the inscribed caption. With photo album paper residue on the reverse and with light soiling, the condition is good.
