WATER TOWER AND AUDITORIUM FROM THE NORTHWEST, CA. 1920S
Color: Black; White
A black and white reproduction photograph of the Water Tower and Auditorium from the northwest, ca. 1920s, taken in 1995. The Water Tower is at the left of the center and has a pavilion roof with a small balcony at the center of the top. The roof is atop a second section containing a wood water tank. Part of the building's north and west walls are at the bottom each with an arched window at the center of the walls. At the left of the back is part of a garage and a utility pole. To the right of the tower is the pitched roof of the Pump House, which is barely visible through the many trees and palms that surround it. At the far left of is the auditorium, of which only the pitched roof and part of the north wall are visible. Across the front of the structure's north wall is part of Evergreen Lane which meets with the center driveway at the bottom of the right. A row of palms is also at the bottom of the right as well as part of the trellised top and arched east wall of the Mission Walkway. An empty field is visible through the haze across the background. Written in blue pencil on the top right corner of the back is, "RALPH & CAROL TEMPLE COLLECTION / MAY 1995 / WATER TOWER & AUDITORIUM / FROM LCN EAST 2ND FLOOR PATIO." Contact sheets for the image are items .35-37 with the negatives being items .2.1-.17. The artifact has no visible signs of damage or wear and is therefore in good condition.
