Description

Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of wood deterioration in the joist and ribs of the Water Tower's upper deck floor, ca. April 1977. Taken for documentation of the site restoration, the image shows floor joists and ribs at the edge of the deck and decay in the wood, probably from termite damage. At the top of the image is part of the scaffolding, including metal supports and wood catwalks. Behind this are parts of trees, but it is not easily discernible from which side of the tower this image was taken. At the bottom of the image is an inscription in pencil reading "Watch Tower Deteriated [sic] / Joists & Ribband [sic]." With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition.
