Description

Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of wood deterioration in the joists of the Water Tower's upper deck, 5 April 1977. Taken for documentation of the site restoration, the image shows a detail of floor joists in the deck and decay in the wood, probably from termite damage. At center left, may be a hole where pipes were placed to transmit or remove water to or from the water tank. It is difficult to see beacuse a person's shadow covers much of the left and lower sides of the image. There is also a hole or gap at upper right, but this is narrow and may have had some other purpose. At the bottom of the object is an inscription in pencil reading "Watch Tower observation 4/5/77 / Deck showing poor condition / of joists & Hole For Tank Piping." With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
