Description
WATER TOWER TANK ON NEWLY RECONSTRUCTED UPPER DECK
Color: Brown; Green
A color polaroid photograph of the replacement water tank on the newly reconstructed upper deck of the Water Tower, 6 June 1977. The tank appears to be one from a smaller water tower and is of wood, heavily sun-bleached, with metal hoops or staves that appear to have been reattached for restoration [see the inscription below. The tank rests on the new floor of the deck and at the top, the basic supports for the roof are in place. At left a construction worker is at the edge of the deck working. The wooden catwalk and rails for the scaffold at the perimeter of the building are visible. It is probable that the view is to the northeast or northwest, given the dense foliage from the oak trees in the background. A pencil inscription at the bottom of the object reads "Water Tank In Place With / Hoops 6/6/77." With little indication of damage or wear, the artifact is in good condition.
