Color: Brown
A color polaroid photograph of the Water Tower upper deck being readied for demolition before reconstruction, 29 March 1977. The tower is at center with the deteriorated deck being especially damaged at the top, though the view is not especially clear. The metal-frame scaffolds have just been set in place, so workers can commence demolition. As for the lower, brick section of the tower, it does not appear to be badly damaged and work there was not done until the top deck was completely rebuilt. Around the tower can be seen some of the surrounding oak trees. At the bottom of the object is an ink inscription reading "Water Tower Scaffold in / Place. 3/29/77." On the reverse, in red ink at the lower section, is the name "Bill K[alnoski]." He was the construction foreman during the early part of restoration and, presumably, the photographer. There are few indications of wear or damage and the artifact is in good condition.
