Description
WATER TOWER UPPER DECK DEMOLITION, LOOKING SOUTHWEST
Color: Brown
A color polaroid photograph of the Water Tower upper deck being demolished before reconstruction, 30 March 1977. The photographer stood on the upper deck, facing the southwest. In the foreground are long piecs of wood, probably pieces from the roof of the deck. Running across the photo, is the western rail with a corner post at left and the horizontal pieces that lead to the northwestern corner leading to the right. In the background are trees on the museum grounds, including the historic San Gabriel palm that stands near La Casa Nueva, at right. An inscription at the bottom of the object, in ink, reads "Watch Tower Looking West / Nearly Demolished 3/30/77." With little or no indication of wear or damage, the object is in good condition.
