WATER TOWER UPPER DECK FLOORING RECONSTRUCTION
Color: Brown; Green
A color polaroid photograph of the floor joists and ribs for the reconstructed upper deck of the Water Tower, 22 April 1977. The view is to the east and, at the top a construction worker is shown bending over at the edge of the deck, though it can't be determined what he is doing. Most of the image shows the joists and ribs newly installed before the flooring is put in. Stacks of board next to the worker may be for further joist and rib work. Part of the wood catwalk and rail, as well as metal supports for the scaffold are at the top, as well. In the background is the old driveway leading to the cemetery and part of an oak tree. An inscription in pencil at the bottom of the artifact reads "Water Tower Looking / East. 4/22/77." With little evidence of wear or damage, the object is in good condition.
