Description
A cabinet card photograph, wedding portrait of August Steinike (d. 1895) and Cristina Francisca Davoust (1868-1965), married 21 December 1886. Photograph by F. G. Schumacher, Los Angeles. Davoust is daughter of Maria Antonia Dominguez (1845-1916). Davoust stands to the right resting her hands on a side table. She wears her wedding gown with lace cuffs and embroidered flowers. She wears a floor length veil topped with a flower crown. Steinike sits to her left, wearing a dark suit, flower on his lapel and white gloves. The cabinet card features a decorative backing with the photographer's information. The item is in good condition with minor surface scratching and warping.
