WELLS FARGO ENVELOPE WITH LOS ANGELES POSTMARK OF MAY, 187-

A Wells Fargo and Company envelope, without contents, postmarked from Los Angeles, May 187-. The white envelope has a preprinted banner at the top center that reads "PAID / Wells, Fargo & Co. / OVER OUR CALIFORNIA AND COAST ROUTES." At the far left is another preprinted area reading "If not delivered within 10 days, to be returned to." At the upper right corner is a blue postmark from Los Angeles with the date stamped over a preprinted three-cent stamp in green. The address is to "Mr Filippo Piazza / new San Diego." On the reverse near the bottom center is the pencil inscription "May 11." At the bottom right is the pencil inscription "11 - 9." With corner creases; soiling; stains; and the opening tear, the condition is good.
