Description

Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the west lawn of La Casa Nueva, ca. 1941-42. The photographer stood on the lawn at the northern side of the area. At left is part of a trellis, which was built off the western side of the music room and two columns and a mass of flowers are seen. The sidewalk leading from the music room to the Mission Walkway crosses the center of the image flanked by small palm trees. Four of the adobe planters are positioned throughout the image. In the background center is the rose garden seen in item .111. To the right and center background are larger trees and much of the center and foreground is the lawn. This is essentially the same view as item .123 [note that a leaf on the lower right of .123 is not in this image.] With only very minor discoloration, the object is in good condition.
