Description

Color: Black; White A photograph of the northern end of the west elevation of La Casa Nueva as seen from the walkway leading from the house to the Mission Walkway, ca. 1932. The main block of the house is in the frame, as is a small portion of the wing at the far right, including the recently-added dormitory on the second floor. Much of the arbor outside the Music Room is visible and, along the walkway leading to where the photographer stood are circular slabs on which potted sago palms are sitting, but it is possible those slabs were intended for a continuation of the arbor, which was never completed. Some of the shrubbery next to the house and grass on the West Lawn are in the foreground. The photograph has a crinkled edge and there is a rectangular piece with two holes for mounting into a paper album, which is item 49.2. In good condition overall, the item has only minor reverse discoloration and paper bowing. Number-Units: 1
