Description

WEST WINDOW THOMAS' ROOM WITH IMAGE OF THE CHRIST CHILD AND VIRGIN MARY Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of a detail in the west window in Thomas' Bedroom showing an image of the Christ child and the Virgin Mary, ca. 1980. The image is a nearly round leaded border at center with the Virgin wearing a dark outfit and lighter-colored hood, over which is a halo. The child sits in her lap with his left hand clutching her clothing and she having her arms and hands around the child. He has an aura around his head. The leading in the window is generally in vertical and horizontal lines though these are not straight and, in one place a leaded line makes a small circle in the glass. Through the window, although fuzzily seen, is the north end of the west side of the Mission Walkway and some of the trees in the west lawn. Because of the backlighting from the exterior's natural light, the wooden frames of the doors are in shadow. With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition.
