"What To Do and See in Southern California," a brochure issued by the Hotel Teris, Los Angeles, 1938. The cover is a black-and-white photograph of a scene with a woman dressed in Spanish or Mexican costume dancing in front of a man dressed in a charro suit and playing a guitar. Behind them is a group seated at a table and watching, while on a balcony above are two younger females watching. The scene appears to be taken on Olvera Street. After a short introduction by the hotel manager, sections for tourist activities include such elements as beaches; local attractions; a guide to the homes of movie stars; descriptions of landmarks, such as the Los Angeles Harbor; mention of the radio industry; items on nightlife; sports; the desert; air terminals; train depots; universities; auto clubs; nearby churches; and travel tips. With only minor creases and dents on the cover and light abrasions, as well, the object, which was included free with items 1.1-1.4 of this accession, is in good condition.
