Description

Color: Black; Brown; Gold; White "Who's Who in Los Angeles, 1924," (Los Angeles: Charles J. Lang,) 1924. The 177-page softcover book has a leather wraper, on the front cover of which are embossed floral borders, a centerdesign of flowering vines, an oval panel with the title, and a small rectangular panel with the year. Inside there is a small introductory note to this first of the series; a title page with the photograph, office address, and telephone of the publisher; and a series of photographs and architectural drawings of notable buildings and the city. Included among the buildings are the National City Bank Building and the Great Republic Life Building, both of which included Walter P. Temple as a part-owner. From page thirteen are short biographical sketches and photographs of notable persons in the city, including, on page 111, Boyle Workman and, on page 171, George H. Woodruff, Walter Temple's attorney. At the end is an index of those profiled. With heavy wear to the covers, including edge abrasions, fading, soiling, an adhesive at the lower right, as well as some light page browning, the overall condition is fair.
