Description

"WHY LOS ANGELES WILL BECOME THE WORLD'S GREATEST CITY," Sherley Hunter (Los Angeles: H. J. Mallen & Co., Inc,) 1923. The boosteristic publication promotes the development of the city with excitable text complemented by quotes from various sources and statistics in a set-off section at the bottom of each page. More statistics and information on local industries are at the back. There are photographs and a conceptual drawing for the Wilshire Boulevard corridor as illustrations. A gift card, item .2 of the accession, was clipped to the front and it and an envelope left impressions on the front cover, where there are also stains and edge and corner wear. The pages are mainly clean and bright, but the cover displays water damage and oxidation so the overall condition is fair.
