Description

WILLIAM H. WORKMAN AT HOLLENBECK PARK, CA. 1910 Color: Black; White A reproduction black and white photograph of William H. Workman at Hollenbeck Park, Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, ca. 1910. The image shows Workman standing on a grassy knoll next to a tree and above a walkway below the hill. Workman wears a three-piece dark suit and dark tie, with a white shirt and dark hat. In his right hand, held at his side, is a white object, perhaps a newspaper, while he appears to have a cigar in his left hand, also held at his side. There are many tall trees in the far background, but the image is grainy and perhaps slightly-out-of focus or multi-generational, so that the reproduction is not clear. Hollenbeck Park was established on land donated by Workman in the community of Boyle Heights, which he established in 1876. As a newly produced photograph, the artifact is in mint condition.
