Description

"WILSTEX" CANDY-STRIPED ZEPHYRS FABRIC SAMPLE BOOK Color: Black; White A sample book of woven cotton fabrics issued by John Wilson Textiles, New York, 1927. The book has a paper cover, on the front of which is a title of "'Wilstex' / Candy - Striped / Zephyrs" Under this is "Woven / Fast Colors" At the bottom is "Thirty - six - inch / - wide -." The company name and address is at the bottom right in a different font than the rest, which is in an Old English-style font, and there is a thin black line border around the edges. Inside are six panels labeled "QUALITY," "SET 211B," "SET 23B," "SET 204B," "SET 24B," and "SET 209B." Each has three samples of striped fabric in various colors and stripe thicknesses, except the "Quality" fabric, which is one larger sample of blue striped material. While the fabrics are in good condition, the cover has many creases and surface stains and so the artifact is in fair overall condition.
