Description

WINDOW AT THE CENTER OF THE WEST SIDE OF THE WORKMAN HOUSE Color: Green; White A color polaroid photograph of the window at the center of the west elevation of the Workman House, ca. 1979. The triptych window is at the center with the trim and columns painted green and white shutters on the inside of the outer two panels. The right column, however, does have white or off-white paint on it. Above the window is the bottom portion of the second-floor window, which appears to be open. Surrounding these two windows is the stuccoed plaster, which is heavily damaged in some areas. On the outer sill or shelf of the triptych are two large pieces of plaster that came off the wall. It is evident that this photograph was taken after the removal of ivy and before the stripping of the plaster and the reapplication of a new layer for restoration. An inscription in pencil at the bottom of the object reads "WORKMAN - West Center / Windows." With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
