Color: Black; White
A stereoview entitled "Winter in the San Gabriel Valley, Cal.," published by the Universal Stereoscopic View Co., New York, ca. 1890s. The image is taken from the porch of a home and shows a dirt driveway in the foreground center and right, a portion of a vine-covered trellis of the porch at the foreground left and, in the background, palm trees, cacti, citrus trees and, further in the background, a grove of what appears to be citrus trees. In the horizon, which is hazy, are the San Gabriel Mountains. At the right is the name and address of the publisher, while at the left is a phrase "STEREOSCOPIC GEMS / OR AMERICAN AND FOREIGN SCENERY." An identification number and caption are at the bottom of the right image. With corner rubbing, acid burns, dents at the top left corner and the left edge near the bottom, darkening, curving of the paper, slight fading of the image, flaking of the paper at the bottom right of the back, a pencil inscription on the back, scratches on the back near the bottom left, mold stains on the back, and tears of the paper at the bottom right of the back, the overall condition is good.
