Description

Color: Black A woman's black lace dress, 1924. The item has sheer sections running vertically from the shoulders to the waist on both sides of front and back and there are sheer panels below the waist in the same areas. The lace work consists of floral designs, including rosettes at the bosom and waist levels on the front and back. There is also a black belt-like accessory with fringe tasseled ends and this is sewn onto the top of the shoulders. The item was purchased in Paris by the donor's great-grandmother during an around-the-world trip in 1924. Except for some minor loosening of thread at several areas, notably at the shoulders, though here it is also minor, the item has little indication of wear or damage and is in good condition.
