Description

A photograph of a group of women laying down on a field taken at the Workman Homestead, California in 1912. The young women are posed in a row, lying on their stomachs with faces in their hands and their legs up. They wear long sleeved blouses, skirts and stockings with leather shoes. Their hairstyles are typical of Edwardian style chignons. They are posed in a large grass field and the background shows more trees in the distance. The women appear to be the same group of ladies in another image within the acquisition. The land once belonged to William Workman and was formerly known as Rancho La Puente. With warping, moderated fading and minor stains on the back, the object is in good condition overall.
