Description

Color: Brown A wood chisel used in the manufacture of furniture, ca. 1900. The piece has a thin metal blade 3 3/4" inches long and 1/4" wide with a pointed end. The other end is connected to the wood handle by a brass piece and, on one side there appears to be something pressed into the metal, but it may be an imperfection. The handle is fluted and tapers from the thicker end toward the thinner portion toward the blade. Pressed into the wood is the owner's name "H KOCH." There are many scratches and chips as well as surface soiling in the handle, significant corrosion and rust on the brass fitting and rust and corrosion on the blade, so the item is in fair condition.
