Description
WORKMAN HOUSE BASEMENT ADOBE WALL BEFORE SHAVING FOR FOOTING WORK
Color: Brown
A color polaroid photograph of the south adobe support wall in the Workman House basement, 23 May 1977. The wall is shown before it was shaved back several inches to prepare for a concrete footing at the floor and retaining wall in front of the adobe, to protect the bearing wall from further deterioration. At top is a beam end, wood joists for the porch floor above, and part of a black plumbing pipe. An inscription at the bottom of the artifact reads "Adobe Wall Basement Preparing / For Footing Pour - 5/23/77." With little indication of wear or damage, the object is in good condition.
