Description

WORKMAN HOUSE BASEMENT--CEMENT FOOTING PREPARATION Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of the preparation of a concrete footing for the Workman House basement, 24 May 1977. It is not clear which portion of the basement this is, but it is against the south bearing wall of the adobe portion of the home. A large pit has been dug, with a pick and shovel in the pit, and a portion of the wall at left, where the wall was shaved to prepare for a concrete block retainer, and sections of the floor at right and upper right. At upper center is a section of concrete block, no doubt recently installed as part of the retainer. A pencil inscription at the bottom reads "Footing Preparation in / Basement 5/24/77." In good condition, the artifact shows little indication of wear or damage. Number-Units: 1
