Description

WORKMAN HOUSE BASEMENT--CEMENT FOOTING PREPARATION AND SHAVED ADOBE WALL Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of the preparation of a concrete footing for the Workman House basement, 24 May 1977. It is not clear which portion of the basement this is, but it is against the south bearing wall of the adobe portion of the home. A large pit has been dug in the foreground and a portion of the wall is behind it, shaved back to allow room for a concrete block retaining wall. In the immediate forground is some time of power tool with a yellow extension cord, probably to break-up pieces of concrete in the floor to dig the pit for the footing. A pencil inscription at the bottom reads "Footing Prepared For Pour / & Back Wall Shaved To Allow / For Block Retaining Wall / 5/24/77." In good condition, the artifact shows little indication of wear or damage. Number-Units: 1
