97.7.1.1Description
Negative, Photographic: A black and white photographic negative of the north elevation of the Workman House, ca. 1889. Taken from the northeast (probably near today's garage), the John H. Temple family, owners at the time, is seen at the northeast corner of the building. Mr. Temple is at left, with his two children, Francis and Pliny, holding his hands. Anita Davoust de Temple, his wife, is seen next to them. Behind Mrs. Temple is an older man, whose identity is not known, standing against the home. Also seen are some landscaping, evidence of recent construction work (a ladder and other items seen on the east side of the house), and indications of the former wall that ran along the east side (an indentation is noted). It is also noted that the door that led to the center of the east wall was, by this time, converted to a window (see left of negative.) Prints in the photo archives are 073 and 221. In good condition. The original photo had the number 241 at lower right corner (visible in this copy.)
