Description

WORKMAN HOUSE NORTHWEST WING EXTERIOR BEFORE RESTORATION, 1978 Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the Workman House northwest wing exterior before restoration, ca. June-July 1978. The room's first floor triptych window is in the center with columns topped by capitals separating the side panels from the middle. Along the top, the window has arches and brackets on either side near the top. A black tarp covers the inside portion of the window where a sign is placed reading, "WEST SIDE." Below the window is a basement vent. In disrepair, the wall's stucco has cracks, stains, and losses, some of which reveal the red brick underneath. A portion of the brick walkway surrounding the house, pictured in disrepair, is in the foreground. Written in black on the back top left is: "WORKMAN RESIDENCE/ - WEST ELEVATION/ MID SECTION - BEFORE RESTORATION/ -JEFF TYLER, ALHAMBRA, CA./ -PHOTO NEG. #45-/ -1/2" SCALE - TAKEN ca. Jun/ July 1978." To the right is a stamp with the name and business information of Raymond Girvigian, the restoration architect. With no signs of wear, the image is in good condition.
