Description

Color: Black and white A black and white photograph of the Workman House plaque, framed, ca. 1850. The glass plaque has gilt lettering reading: "<PUENTE> / WM. WORKMAN, / Arrived Nov. 5th Guy-Fawkes,day / 1841." There are holes in the four corners where the plaque was mounted to a door in the Workman House. There are two large cracks extending from the lower left corner toward the upper center and from the top of the first crack to near the lower center. This occurred when the piece was dropped at a 1941 celebration of the centennial of the arrival of William Workman to southern California. At some undetermined date the piece was mounted in a gold frame. The photograph is in mint condition. Number-Units: 1
