"Your Home," November 1929 (Vol. IX, No. 1), a home builders magazine published by Constructive Publishing Company. The front cover has the title in a black background at the top, along with the price, date and mottoes of "BUILDING - FURNISHING - BEAUTIFYING" and "A NECESSARY MAGAZINE FOR THE HOME BUILDER." A large color illustration of a living room with an armchair, side table, desk, and lamp are in bright colors. At the bottom are titles of four of the feature articles. The back cover has an ad for roofing shingles. Articles concern shopping; kitchens; custom home building; wall sconces; gardening; modernizing older homes; use of space; staircases; a biographical sketch of an amateur carpenter; and wall treatments. Many black and white photographs, floor plans, and drawings illustrate the articles, including views of home exteriors, furnishings, gardens, and domestic scenes. Advertisements of house-related products and services are found mainly at the front and rear of the magazine. While the pages appear to be free from wear and damage, the cover has many creases, surface soiling, and corner and edge wear, so the artifact is in fair condition overall.Lexicon
