YUMA MASSACRE COMMEMORATION PHOTOGRAPHS, THOMAS TEMPLE COLLECTION
Photographs: Ten black and white photographs of Yuma Massacre of 1781 commemorations, held at the Mission San Gabriel. Most are of the 1965 event, showing a flag processional and participants gathered in a group. One photo from 1962 shows the dedication of a plaque in the Mission interior cemetery to the deceased of the massacre, who were buried at that site. The other two photographs, from 1958, are descendants of massacre survivors visiting the grave site. From the Thomas Temple Collection, donated by Ruth Ann Michaelis. The photos are in good condition. Most have the year of photo written on the back and the 1965 photos have the photographers stamp.
