Description

Commemorative collector's ornament designed by Fred V. Mills depicting the Hudson Bank Building built as a private bank in 1901, closing in 1937 as Hudson State Bank. The building served as a medical office for Dr. McGee shortly thereafter until the early 1960s. The Hudson Woman's Club began a Volunteer Hudson Library there in 1977 leasing the building from Alexander Lumber Company. The building continued to be leased afterthe tax -supported Hudson Area Public Library district was formed in March 1992. The Hudson Area Public Library used the building until 1995 when the new library building was constructed at 104 West Street. Dr. Mills was one of the original appointed trustees of the library. These ornaments are still available for sale at the Hudson Area Public Library.
