James Kinney, a graduate of the Kamehameha School for Boys, recently returned from Jarvis Island. While there he became interested in the birds, and after having studied their habits he because a taxidermist and did many fine pieces of work.
On his return from Jarvis Island he had $1,800 in savings with him and 75 specimens, which he will use to further his education on birds.
He left Honolulu recently on the President Pierce and will attend the University of Wisconsin where he is determined to obtain a master's degree in ornithology, a branch of zoology dealing with birds.
