This project is a response to the media's twisted glorification of criminals and serial killers. Portraits were painted from the mug shots of three English gang members from the early 1900’s but they are depicted in a satirical way. The serious faces are presented against boldly coloured backgrounds. By utilizing humor to subvert the traditional portrayal of criminals in the media, the project hopes to challenge the way society perceives and consumes media content.Artwork Details
